Rörelse is movement.
We move. We do not stand still. We take space and we give space. We are Rörelsen! Rörelsen is a dance club based in Gothenburg, made by us - eight women with backgrounds in cultural production, music, design, art, psychology and theatre. Based on our various skills, we have worked out a concept where we want to give the club visitor an overall experience, but dance and music is in focus. We put a lot of artistic emphasis on decor, and throughout the night we participate on the dance floor as well as in the DJ booth. We hope that in this way, together with our guests, we will build a warm and inspiring atmosphere. We wish that everyone that comes to the club feel comfortable, safe, welcome and free in their own expression. The music we play will make it impossible to stand still. A bubbling mix of West African beats, dancehall, avant-garde jazz, arab pop, electrocumbia, latintronica, trip-hop, hip-hop, house, electroswing, electropop, acid-jazz, electroclash and klezmer. Our house DJs mix these genres into a personal style that creates an energetic and euphoric dance experience. During spring 2018 we organized three club nights at Kulturhuset Oceanen in Gothenburg. The events have been very much appreciated and the interest for the club has grown explosively. In the autumn we will continue with more club nights at Oceanen, but we also want to find other environments to be inspired by and explore our concept in. Among other things, we will take over the dance floor in some venues in Gothenburg during the autumn and we would also love to do guest appearances abroad!
